The British Invasion Years

Location: Tim McLoone's Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ
Doors open at 6:30pm, Show starts at 8pm

ABOUT THE SHOW
Get ready to experience the groovy sights & sounds of the Sixties, from both sides of the Atlantic!

First, you may hear songs by iconic British Invasion groups such as The Zombies, Dave Clark Five and Herman's Hermits.

The American "musical response" follows, with memorable hits by celebrated artists such as The Monkees, Tommy James, and The Doors, to name just a few.

The performance concludes with an extraordinary finale paying tribute to the four lads from Liverpool who started it all, The Beatles!

The British Invasion Years has shared the stage with legendary recording artists such as: The Beach Boys, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, Herman's Hermits and many, many more!

ABOUT THE BAND
Live & session musicians Bobby M (Bass) and Lee Scott Howard (Guitar) credit seeing The Beatles' debut on Ed Sullivan with setting them both on the road to becoming full-time musicians. Decades later, their common career paths would finally merge...

One night, after collaborating on another project, these best of friends developed the concept of an exciting, unique concert experience, meticulously recreating all the amazing hit songs they grew up listening to, complete with period accurate outfits and multimedia.

In that moment, the foundation for The British Invasion Years was forged...

Bobby & Lee had worked on other musical endeavors along side seasoned keyboardist/guitarist Jon Wolf. Jon had caught wind of their idea and wanted in. He dropped "subtle hints" at sessions, like randomly playing pieces of The Beatles' Abbey Road medley. Well, Jon's plan worked! He got their attention alright, and was immediately brought on board.

Bobby and veteran drummer Dave Hall have been longtime friends, as well as members of a wildly successful regional club band a number of years back. Lee and Jon also knew Dave and had always wanted to work with him. Turns out, Dave felt the same way. When the band was searching for a drummer, Dave just happened to be available at the right time. So he enthusiastically answered the call and joined forces with his other three friends.

With the lineup now complete, the group that would soon come to be regarded as the "Four Boys Making All That Noise" launched its musical "invasion"!

THE BELL BOTTOM BLUES - "The Eric Clapton Tribute Band"

Location: Tim McLoone's Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ
Doors open at 6pm, Show starts at 8pm

The Bell Bottom Blues was formed in 2007 by a group of New Jersey musicians with the vision of providing an audience with a true Eric Clapton Experience. The band has been carefully constructed to create the essence of the Clapton sound, from his guitar arrangements to his distinctive vocal sound. This is what separates The Bell Bottom Blues from all others. Our audiences and fans tell us that "they close their eyes during a show and swear that they are actually at a Clapton concert." This is what we set out to achieve. Through each band member's dedication, professionalism and hard work we have captured the sound and essence of the Master himself through his various stages, from Cream and Derek & The Dominoes to his solo career. We have captured his guitar styling and more importantly his exact vocal sound, which allows us to pay authentic musical homage to this Rock and Blues Icon. There is no better satisfaction for us than watching our audience respond. Some of the nationally recognized venues that we have played are, Iridium NYC, BB Kings NYC, Havana's PA, New Hope Winery PA, Daryl's House, Infinity Theater Ct, Downtown Cabaret Ct, Grand Casino, Harahs, Empire City, Resorts and Foxwoods to name a few.

"SILK CITY ARTISTS & MUSICIANS"
This documentary portrays the thriving arts community in the city of Paterson. Bucky Pizzarelli, legendary guitarist, and Federico Castelluccio, a visual artist and actor best known for his role as Furio on The Sopranos, are among the artists and musicians who discuss the influence of Paterson on their work.

Paterson's Essex and Phoenix Mills, buildings that are designated for 70 percent artist and musician housing, and the Art Factory, a 22-building factory complex serving as the city's creative arts center, are featured in the film. Former Paterson Mayors Lawrence "Pat" Kramer and Congressman William Pascrell, Jr., who were instrumental in securing these artistically dedicated facilities, comment on the role of artists and arts for Paterson.

HONEY WEST

Featuring IAN McDONALD of Foreigner & King Crimson

Location: Tim McLoone's Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ
VIP Meet & Greet starts at approximately 5:30pm. Doors open to the public at 6pm, Show starts at 7:30pm.

A British rock giant and an acclaimed and respected member of New York's acting community walked into a recording studio...and produced one of 2017's strongest and most compelling albums. This odd couple consists of multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald, a founding member of both Foreigner and King Crimson, and his songwriting partner, guitarist and lead vocalist Ted Zurkowski, co-founder of New York's celebrated Shakespeare ensemble, Frog & Peach, and a long-time member of the world-famous Actors Studio. Together, this unlikely new songwriting team conjured the album Bad Old World under the banner of their sophisticated slam-bam guitar rock outfit, HONEY WEST, also anchored by Ian's son, Maxwell McDonald, on bass.

Goldmine Magazine and WFUV's Darren DeVivo both placed Bad Old World in their Best of 2017 Top 10, with significant notice from Billboard, Parade Magazine, Huffington Post, and much more, and national radio play on "Nights with Alice Cooper." Bad Old World ? soon to be celebrated with a special Collector's Edition Vinyl package ? is filled with memorable melodies and clever and sophisticated lyrics served on a bed of guitar-driven rock n' roll played by top-shelf musicians, including guest drummer Steve Holley (Paul McCartney & Wings) and Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants) on bass. While it's a modern sound stamped by Ian McDonald's world-class musicianship and production, it also bears an instant familiarity, thanks to a sonic blueprint recalling such Brit-rock titans as The Move, Rockpile, Mott the Hoople, and the Kinks.

Asked why it took decades to find himself in a guitar-propelled band, McDonald reckons: "I guess I had never met the right writing partner before. It took a while to meet somebody who wrote great lyrics. There aren't that many great lyric writers who can sing and play guitar as well. When Ted and I got together, I was really pleased to be able to do that."

HONEY WEST - named in honor and celebration of the proto-feminist 1960s cult TV spy series starring the ever-alluring Anne Francis - was already up and running when the two came together. For McDonald, discovering the scope and breadth of Zurkowski's talents was the catalyst for wanting to create a musical partnership. "Ted's lyrics are very smart," says McDonald. "I like smart lyrics, I like smart music. The songs revolve around a more-or-less complete lyric. That's slightly unusual for me, or for the way things are usually done. This has ended up being a really good partnership."
